Hacienda Rio Negro is based in the Coto Brus Region in Southern Costa Rica, along the Panamanian border. Our farm has been recognized and certified by the Rainforest Alliance and was the first ever RFA farm. This is also the same region where the famed La Esmeralda is grown and has sold for as much as $170 a pound at auction. This high grown coffee from the southernmost tip of Costa Rica gets its name from the Black River that flows through the plantation. Smooth body and acidity with a sweet chocolate finish. This coffee is simply one of the very best Costa Ricans ever grown. We roast it to perfection.
